Enjoying summer
So I have been having a blast this summer so far. Most of you know that I took some time off of work at the scrapbook store to spend time with my sister, their kids and mine. (one sister came up from Cali and one flew over from Hawaii) I think I have kind of get on my sisters nerves though because I keep planning things and making them do them.
Like going outside to the neighbors house while she was having a bonfire or going to the beach, but I have found that I have lost so much while my older boys were growing up and just want the kids to have fun and remember this summer forever and want us mommies to enjoy watching them.
I don't know I think I just came to this place in my life that I want to enjoy everything. I love just taking it all in, my hubby, sisters, my kids and life. I am enjoying it so much too. I just find I have this total peace over me. I am trying not to sit on the couch in front of the TV either, even though that is nice too sometimes. When we have been home during the day I have been sitting outside, watching the kids play and throwing the ball for lady(the dog).
side note: Lady is so funny she loves to chase the ball and I am teaching her to actually bring it back to me not run away.
Derek, the boys and I are on a road trip to Spokane,WA. tomorrow. Derk and his friend Rob are going dirt bike riding. We are staying at this awesome hotel, Red Lion at the park, that has a outdoor pool. Which will be nice cause they say it is supposed to be in the 100s. While the guys are off riding the boys and I are going to spend the day at Riverfront park, they have a ton of stuff to do there, Carousel, rides, waterfall, big red wagon, etc. So say a prayer for a safe trip and I will have lots of pics to post we we get home.
And please go out and enjoy your family. love to all!

Random Saturday
Summer is going great so far, spending lots of time with my family. Wish is was nicer out more so we could be out having litte field trips with all the kids. Here are some random shots of the cousins chalking up the driveway.
I have been really bad at menu planning right now with all the kids here, but to keep on a budget I really need to start it again for dinners at least. Well I hope you have a great week and I will be back later to post a few ideas for your summer journal if you are playing along. I have been really bad about scrapbooking lately really need and want to get back into it.

When it rains it pours.
I tell ya that when things are going good we should know that it won't last long. Good things to happen to us this last past week or so
-Lady came to live with us and even though the first day or so was rough it has been going really good now.
-We had the money to pay cash for a new couch and chair, which was so needed. The blue couch we had, I got from a friend 8+ years ago and who knows how long she had it for before that. It had seen better days.
-My sister from Hawaii decided to come and spend the summer here and then my other sister Beth decided to come up to, yea can't wait to do lots of summer things with them all and all the kids. (PS. so this weekend ALL 14 grand kids will be together.)
But you can't think things could go wrong when every thing is going so good. YEA right! So 2 nights ago my computer went squiggly and shut off. This has happened before and we usually just wait and turn it back on, this time it would not turn back on. So I took it to my dad yesterday and he says the mother board is dead. Man that dang thing is only 3 years old, grr well RIP crappy computer. Well we have to have a computer though for my hubby's business to do all the book work, so now we have to come up with the cash to get another one. There goes paying off DH dirt bike this month.
Oh oh it gets worse!
So My hubby was on his way home from work yesterday and got a phone call so he pulled off the freeway to talk to the caller and his truck died smack in the middle of lunch rush hour traffic on the off ramp (right in the middle of the ramp, didn't even make it to the side of the road) So he spent hours on the side of the road waiting for a friend to look at his truck(to find out it won't be a quick fix), the the tow guy, then at Truck Town buying a new truck. Not sure what is wrong with his truck, but with his job he needs a running one everyday and we were going to buy a new anyway just didn't plan on it this soon. And the truck needs to be one that will hold his 1500+lb welder in it. So this neww one will be great for it. I'll post pics later.
So this makes me worry what else could go wrong?? I hate to think like this but like I said in the title when it rians it pours.

Busy Week ahead.
Well lots to do this week, it is sure to keep me on my toes for sure. But I think with lots of planning and organizing I can make it all work ok.
-Monday, Doct. appt.
-Tues, library books due and take my dad to physical therapy
-Wednesday, work 10-2
-Thursday, Pick up my two boys for the summer (3 hr drive), My sister and her kids fly in
-Friday, Go and see my sister (so excited), work 2-6
-Need to make 2 bday cards, plan dinner menu, shopping, and still potty training puppy. Also looking for a tv cabinet for my huge awkward tv.
Summer Journal
-I also am trying to put together a summer journal. I was involved in a great Christmas Journal done my Shimelle this past Christmas and it was so great, really made me enjoy it so much more. It probably ended up being the best I have had in a long time. So I want to convert that into summer some how, with a few twists. I have it almost completed. Every week I will give 2 or 3 prompts about subjects to write or scrap about, but I also wanted to leave room for layouts of things you have done over the summer.
I will post the weekly prompts on here for anyone who would like to play along. With my sister and her kids being here, my boys, my other sister being pregnant, the new puppy I just really want to make the best of this summer and I think this is how I am going to do it best. Focusing on certain things that I want to do this summer.
The first page will be -What are you summer intentions?
I am almost done with this layout so I will post it when I am done.
So I hope you will want to join me.

Lots of New!
So this past week has been full of new stuff. First Derek and I bought a brand new Lazy boy couch and chair. I don't have a pic of the chair on here but it is a chair and a half so it seriously fits 2 adults. And all of them recline. And next is this little lady. She is a 7 month old beagle. She is such a sweety, she loves to cuddle on the couch with you. She isn't quit potty trained so that is taking it's toll onme, but we'll get through it. Oh and she came to us with the name 'Lady'. It was a little stressful the first day (yesterday) but today has gone alot better today.

Monthly Organizing Roundup: Kids Bedrooms
I am just jumping in this month, but it worked out perfect because this month I totally had redone my 3 yo sons closet.
He was wanting to pick out his own shirts every morning, so I was having to lift him up to the top bar. I don't have pics of the before but on the bottom of the closet were a set of those clip together wire baskets with his books and toys I didn't want him messing with.
So the new organization of the closet worked out great.
-I put his clothes are on bottom rod, now they are in his easy reach.
-We put shelves on top and now the books and toys I want him to stay out of are up high.
-Toys like lego and kinex are in plastic storage bins.
-Seems simple, but we put the shelves off to the side so we still had some room for our seasonal coats.
Menu Plan Mondays
Tonight we will have the Turkey Tyme burgers we haven't eaten from last week.
-Lemon Tyme Tilapia packets, brown rice
-Bubble Up Enchiladas, salad
-Make your own Pita Pizzas, veggie sticks
-A night of Left Overs
For more great menu's check out Laura over at Organized Junkie.
