We are now Homeowners!

We got signed around yesterday, which means the house is ours. They now can not back out. We still could if something went wrong. We still need to have home inspection done for our peace of mind and if anything is really wrong we can still back out. Derek and his friends can do alot of work themselves so most things won't be a problem, but we don't want to miss anything major (like mold) that would cost us alot of money later. So YEA I am so excited and can't wait toget moved in and start on my scraproom and paint the walls of my own house.

The waiting game.

Well we now are just waiting to see if our offer was accepted. Waiting, waiting, waiting, who knew it could be so long. And it isn't like it was to long around 24 hours and you figure 8 of them are sleeping, but the last two are the worst. They have to have an answer by noon today, which is an hour away so I should have some kind of answer soon. Let you know as soon as I do.

Buying a house - The process.

Well we went and looked at the house on Illahee yesterday, it was our first choice house (yellow one). Our friend and contractor, Tom, went and inspected it for us while we were there. Now this house isn't perfect and it needs some work, but it is such a cute and charming house. It has so much potential and we can't wait to get to work on it. While there our realtor called the selling agent and found out there was another offer on the house, our hearts dropped, but if we could beat their offer we could purchase it. The asking price is $175,00 so we were fine with it, but will pay no more than that though. First reason is to much does have to be done to the house so it isn't worth more than than and second we can't afford anymore of a payment than that.
So today our agent is putting in an offer and we should know by end of today if she accepts, then the loan paper work will begin. Then we also can get going on getting an inspection done to make sure the house is worth buying, making sure there are no problems.
I can't belive how much money, time, and sweat goes into buying a house. I will be prepared next time. We don't plan on staying in this one forever, 2-5 years. Once it is fixed up and I can get a job (once Wyatt starts school) then we will upgrade. Well that is all that is going on now. I am copying some paper work and waiting to receive our 06 tax returns so I can fax them to the broker, then we will be on our way, YEA! Pray for us that all goes ok and this will go through.

Top house.

So my kids and I drove around for 2 1/2 hours yesterday and drove by 10 houses of interest. Five were thrown from the pile immedialty, for reason of either no real parking, no garage, apartment like setting or no yard, but here are a few that made the cut. Some of these were vacant so I did get to see inside, but we have not walked through to see the inside or the structure of the house.

And they are in order of which we like best.

House #1 In the Illahee (Bremerton) area. View from across the street. And it is on 1/4 and acre. The Fully Fenced yard in back.
This is the garage with Hobby shop attaced, which would be fixed up for my scrap room.
House #2 Just outside Gorst. Has a two car garage, they dont have doors, but DH would fix that eventually. And it is on almost a half acre and is fully fenced.

House #3 just outside Gorst also very cute cottage setting, but railroad tracks run right in front of the house and we are not sure if these are in service, so that will be something we have to check on.It is the green house behind the trees.

Join us on our journey to buying a home.

Well we looked at a few houses today. Nothing to promising, actually they were both dumps. The first had great land and neighbors, but to much work needed to be done inside.
The second well lets just say Amittyville would have been a better house. You drove past trashy mobile home park , up this one lane road over railroad tracks and when you pulled up to the house it was like, well lets just say the house had no windows they were either broken or boardered up. The kitchen was huge, but what was left in it was powder blue. The floor was like walking on the ocean is was so uneven. Then you walked outside and it looked ok till the trees stopped blocking your view and you saw the power station off to the left and the power towers on either side of the house 20 feet away. It was scary and also need even more work then the house before.
But no fear I am driving by 5 or 6 more tomorrow that didn't seem to bad from the pics. So I will let you know tomorrow how it goes.

ScrapJacked

So I found this great blog called Scrapjacked. There challenge this week was by Amber Skolnick. Here it is:

And here is my take on it. Thanks for looking.

Presidents weekend, lots of fun!

Pulling Zach's tooth, with good old string and a door.
Wyatt looking as cute as ever with his cheesy grin.

Wyatt wasn't to sure about the Quad. He kind of actually looks kind of scary there. Wyatt had to be right there while Zach played the computer.

The boys coloring.
