Steak Diane

So while waiting for my sister Dani to get back to her house today; I was watching Semi Homemade with Sanadra Lee and I saw her make this. It looks so yummy. I will be making it next week I think.

4 (3-ounce) filet mignon medallions, rinsed and patted dry
1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning (recommended: McCormick Grill Mates)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon crushed garlic (recommended: Christopher Ranch)
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup cognac
1 tablespoon steak sauce (recommended: A-1)
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup low-sodium beef broth (recommended: Swanson)
1 tablespoon chives, finely chopped

Season both sides of filets with steak seasoning; set aside.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add filets and cook for 2 minutes on one side. Turn and cook for 1 minute more. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove filets and set aside on a plate.
Remove pan from stovetop. Tip pan away from you and add cognac. With a (long match or lighter) ignite cognac, keeping pan tipped away from you at all times. When flame has burned out, return pan to stovetop. Stir in steak sauce, cream, and beef broth. Stir thoroughly and bring sauce to a simmer.
Return filets and any accumulated juices to pan. Coat with sauce and warm through. Stir in chives.
Place filets on warm plates. Spoon sauce and mushrooms over filets.

Count down...

Not even a day till my Birthday!
2 days till Kim gets here and
3 days till Beth gets here!

Yes OK I am posting whatever right now just trying to get to 150 posts tomorrow.

EGG project

Ok so the store that I work at got this new brand in, The Robin's nest, they are like glass/plastic beads. They are actually pretty fun, this is what I am working on to put up at the store. I also did a layout adn a few cards with it also, but haven't gotten pics of them, will tomorrow, they are up at the store.

Clip it up ideas

OK so right now clip it up is real big, but I have seen some really cool alternatives to it, so I thought I'd post pics and links to some other ways to get the same thing.

This one is from HeatherR's room. She used a dish towels dryer, one that hooks under your sink. Great idea.

This one is by Tallynt from SISTV. She just used an IKEA kitchen unit.

This is in bmwgirl1's scrap room. Great idea and it holds alot too.

Here is KristinH's

Oh and this is my fav not only did she use it for her clip it up system she put spools of ribbon on it too. She just used a thin curtain rod. Can't get any cheaper than that.
Well if you have an idea and would like me to share it please post a link in the comment. I'd love to share it.

Scrap weekend

Well I haven't said how that went yet, but let me tell you it was sooo good. All us girls got along so well, we cried, laughed, it was just the best (we missed you beth). We all clicked so well, we were all so alike in our faith and habits, we even all scrapped kind of alike or at least liked the same stuff. Alot of product passing, which is nice because we all had soemthing different in our stacks, I should say mounds of stuff as you can see by the pics below. These are just a few of them when I get the others from Joleen I will post those too.that is my mess.
Oh and a count down 12 days till my Birthday, yippee!

and 15 days till my sisters get here from Hawaii and Cali . Another Yippee!!

what a night

Well the night started out with me making dinner and slicing a portion off my right thumb with my pampered chef slicer, no I wasn't using the guard thing. So then I think I had the bandaid on to tight and my whole thumb is sore to the touch. Yea that's great, then to top it off Wyatt and I were up ALL night I think we got maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hours sleep the whole night, he kept scratching his butt and saying 'oww'. SO I took him in and find out he has strep throat in his throat and on his butt, so he has meds for both ends.
Hope all your days are going a little better.

a few recipes I am trying this week

Round Steak in Gravy

Round steak recipe with a tasty gravy made with onion soup mix.
INGREDIENTS:
3 to 4 pounds round steak, cut in portions
salt and pepper
flour
2 tablespoons oil
2 carrots sliced
2 onions, sliced
1 package dry onion and mushroom soup mix
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 can water
PREPARATION:
Sprinkle round steak with salt and pepper, toss with flour. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet; brown steak pieces on both sides. Place half of round steak, carrots, and onions in crockpot. Combine dry onion and mushroom soup mix with cream of mushroom soup and water. Pour half of sauce over steak, carrots, and onions. Repeat layers. Cook on high 4 to 6 hours.Serves 8 to 12.

Pioneer Woman Chicken Spaghetti
2 cups cooked chicken
2 cans Cream of Mushroom soup
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup finely diced green pepper
1/2 cup finely diced onion
1-4 oz jar diced pimentos, drained
3 cups dry spaghetti, broken into two inch pieces
2 cups reserved chicken broth from pot
1 teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 additional cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

Cook 1 cut up fryer and pick out the meat to make two cups. Cook spaghetti in same chicken broth until al dente. Do not overcook. When spaghetti is cooked, combine with remaining ingredients (the reserved chicken stock too) except additional 1 cup sharp cheddar. Place mixture in casserole pan and top with remaining sharp cheddar. Cover and freeze up to six months, cover and refrigerate up to two days, or bake immediately: 350 degrees for 45 minutes until bubbly. (If the cheese on top starts to get too cooked, cover with foil.)

Packed and ready to go...

So tomorrow after work I am off on a girls scrapbooking weekend. YEA! Thursday to Sunday afternoon, of food, no kids or hubbies, 6 other great ladies and lots and lots of scrapbooking. But before I say goodbye I thought I'd share this great paper storage idea I got off Tinalynn510's blog. I took the 3 different paper holders I had and moved all the paper into this plastic storage container and they are all seperated in Legal size file folders. It is so easy to carry and really easy to see everything I have. Plus it really made me realize I need to start using up the paper I have, hopefully this weekend.
OK well my 2 yo wants me to go and sit on the couch with him so I will talk to you all on sunday night, hopefully with lots of done layouts.
