Marinated London Broil

Ok so this was so yummy. It was really spicy, but you could totally take stuff out to make it less spicy if you want. Was super good to eat a piece of the meat and some maashed potatoes in each bite.

2 Lbs. London Broil

2 T Balsamic Vinegar
2 T Soy sauce
1 1/2 T Dark Brown Sugar
2 T olive oil
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
2 T Red pepper flakes
1/2 T Paprika
2 tsp minced garlic
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Basil
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

-Whisk all marinade ingredients together in bowl then pour into zip lock bag. Place the London broil in bag with marinade, remove as much air as possible, massage marinade into meat, and put in refrigerator. Leave in there for at least two hour to over night.
-Remove and let sit at room temp for 20 min. Remove meat from marinade and broil for 8-10 min. (we put ours on the grill for about 20 min.)
-In the meantime, put marinade in pot and boil for 5 min and use this to bast the meat on grill.
Once meat is cooked let rest for 10 min before slicing.

A little bit of this

So Wyatt has been very excited about Christmas this year. I think he really gets he is getting gifts and he keeps adding to his list everyday. He asks me everyday how long till Christmas?
We keep trying to tell him he can't get everything on it, that it is just there to help Santa out. So here is the revised list, one whole side is lego things.

............................................................ ............................................................

So I have been very motivated to do another layout. I did Wyatt's last year preschool pic using the new Studio Calico Bazaar add on kit. I also used some ink sprayed on the white paper to soften the white a little.
I used my friend Carrie's layout down below as my inspiration. (her blog is down right now, but when it is back up I will post a link to it)

Wish List

So we had several toy catalogs laying around so Wyatt and I put together this wish list for Christmas. I love how kids flip through magazines and say I want this and this,oh thisw, how bought this and this.

He has several legos on here, but he has two grandparents getting him a set so I think that should be enough. Otherwise he wants a light saber, he really isn't into star wars but he loves playing with his cousin Micheal's saber. He wants a boat for the bath. And we love the Fisher Price camera too, he always uses mine and it would be nice for mine not to get dropped anymore.

He tried to put a Leap Frog system on there, but I think we will wait for that for his Birthday and grandparents can get him games or something.

Anyway there is the list form a child who sees and wants everything. He had a ton more things he wanted to put on there, but I would have to tell him we just don't have room for all that. LOL

What is on your wish list? I would love to see what your kids picked out. I remember making them when I was older and putting them on the front of my bedroom door so my parents would see. I can't get the older boys to make one though.

A thinking brain

So who knew making this garland was going to be so difficult. I didn't like the colors of Joann's and Micheal's pom poms, they were to bright and fluorescenty. So I found some at Oriental Trading Co. not to bad of a price with a online special they were having.

But then you have to figure out how much to buy?

How long should the garland be? I searched the internet and I found a site that says you need about 9ft of garland for each foot of tree. We usually have a 6-7 ft one so I figured we need 54 to 63 ft. So to be safe I rounded up to 65 ft. Wow that is alot of garland. Ok so I just found another site that says for a 6-7 ft tree you need between 85-100 ft. Man what to do.
Each bag comes with 550 pom poms in it. I measured out a foot and will use about 17 pom poms per foot. 65x17=1105, 550 pom poms x 3 bags= 1650 pom poms, that should make around 95 ft, give or take. We should be safe I think.

I also thought this was cute, I found it on this blog. I might do something like this and put on the bookshelf in my scrapbook area. Micheal's and Joann's always sell little hand made ornaments so wouldn't be to hard to make with their good sales and coupons. I'd say I could make little ornaments, but I am not a sewer.
Also I was looking at other types of pom pom garland and found this link. She has tons of other links on her blog post for other pom pom garland ideas.
Kim I thought you might like this one.
